Central to the strength of my application to XXXX Hospitality’s Corporate Summer Associate Internship Program is my enthusiasm for new, creative ideas in finance. I seek additional immersion in solid investigation, putting my analytical skills to work on the cutting edge of international finance, as I have done in several finance-related courses at New York University, such as my studies of revenue management and strategies for selling hotel rooms.
I have excelled as a graduate student in Hospitality Studies at XXU with a concentration in Hotel Finance. My intellectual world is centered on real estate—marketing, selling, buying—; and my most important professional experience is in hospitality. I particularly enjoyed this past May through August (2012), working with Resorts World Casinos (RWC), cultivating countless relationships by email, telemarketing, and organizing in-house promotional activities. My analytical skills were sharpened through a sustained evaluation of playing habits of electronic table game players based on calculated simulations and theoretical wins.
My intrigue with the celebration of diversity was also very much enhanced at RWC through the development of catered events targeted towards specific demographics and serving as a liaison between guests and casino departments, including marketing, player development, food and beverage and Player's Club. I also coordinated marketing initiatives with third party firms including L3 and Tanqerine Advertising. Reporting directly to the Director of Player Development, I was responsible for administrative support duties including scheduling and key customer account maintenance.
I was already deeply engaged with the study of Mergers and Acquisitions in High School and was selected to attend the Youth about Business Summer Camp at XXXX University, where I distinguished myself in leadership roles both in that program and throughout my undergraduate studies at Northeastern in International Business, serving, for example, as Vice President for the Chinese Scholar and Students Association, promoting cultural awareness, contacting and coordinating guest speakers and working with the Executive Board in the promotion of our Annual Spring Gala Festival. Prior to my internship with RWC, I completed an internship with Staples, Hong Kong doing intensive market research on trends and top vendors. I have also interned with the XXXX International Financial Leasing Company, a pioneer financial leasing company in mainland China. Most recently I have been working with several key student colleagues on establishing the Chinese Hospitality Association for graduate students at New York University. Finally, I feel that I am a strong candidate for an internship position with Hersha Hospitality because of my profound passion for the environment. I think green in all things and I fully share Hersha’s focus and central operational assumption that sustainable environmental harmony is good for the hospitality business.
I now feel strongly that I have reached a level of maturity with sufficient experience to be a major asset to XXXX Hospitality as a Summer Associate in Acquisition, Asset Management, Development, and/or Capital Planning. Please feel free to contact me at XXXX. Thank you for your consideration of my application.
Sincerely,
